Advice on the coronavirus for places of education
Here is an update on the action our school is taking to be vigilant and safe regarding the risk of infection, especially linked to the current outbreak of the Coronavirus in other countries and the implications this could have in the UK.
We want to be pro-active and have prioritised our focus on safe routines and good hygiene practice.
Teachers are given additional resources (more tissues, hand sanitisers, soap and paper towels) and teaching materials and we have generally increased our focus on the good practice advised by Public Health England. (Please see reverse)
We are reminding and teaching our children how to wash hands thoroughly.
We are setting up a new routine to ensure every child washes their hands 5 times a day (on arrival, before snack time, before and after lunchtime and before going home). This is in addition to the normal hand washing after using the toilet.
I ask that you encourage your child over the coming weeks to continue with this additional safe practice at home.
We continue to be vigilant around pupils, parents/carers or staff who have travelled abroad and I can confirm that to our knowledge no one has visited areas identified by the Government as high risk.
Please continue to tell us if you or anyone who you have been in close contact with has travelled any high-risk areas. Please see latest guidance here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19
Many thanks for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.
